check for oil leaks at the sprocket shaft oil seal, the oil transfer valve and lastly the case near the tranny(unlikely)Salty

     Thanks Salty,

Is There Anyway Other Than Drill/Tap and Put A Locktited Screw into
The Oil Transfer Valve To Make It Inoperative? So,
The Engine Oil Stays in The Engine, And
The Primary Oil Stays In The Primary.

Why? There are tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of Sportys out there with the exact same valve with no problems. If yours is bad, replace it. If not look elsewhere for your trouble.

Restriction on the return side of the oil system can cause increased pressure in the engine, forcing the oil in the flywheel cavity past the engine sprocket seal into the primary. Sometimes it's just a worn seal, sometimes its a blocked crankcase breather tube.
Worth taking a look at the cause before just replacing the seal.

Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

I'm Running A Longer Return Line With A External Oil Filter,
Could That Be Causing A Increase In Pressure????

Absolutely!  Make sure you're using a filter made for iron head motors  (like a 63782-80T, or similar, low restriction filter) and ensure there are no kinks/sharp bends in the lines. ( easy to squeeze line size with zip ties)

RT,

The low restriction filter you mentioned - 63782-80T - is that a HD filter or aftermarket?

Thanks,

LW

I've Been Running Close To 4' Ft. of Return Line,
With A "Camaro, V8, K&N Performance Gold, 1970-1992 Low Restriction Oil Filter"
                         @ an External Remote Location.
                           Maybe This Is Too Much????
