I want to get more than 95" out of my 06 without boring cases.I've been looking at aftermarket Big Bore kits,Headquarters,Revolution Performance,Axtell, ect.I want all the cubic inches I can get and of course still be able to ride without worry.I'm throwing this out there because I need experenced advice(thats why I can't live without my HTT).So how big is BIG and whats the best way to get there?  AA TIA      Coff 06

You can go to 98 (see my Dyno sheet) or 107 with the stroked crank which either one is more than enough to get you to 115hp +

Axtell offers a 107 kit for stock crank,no case boring, but who knows.I don't want to be a tester for something. If I had that much money I wouldn't here.         Coff 06

GoFast....,did you bore your 88" jugs or do something else?       Coff 06

Coff,
You will have to bore the case to accept Axtell's 4.125 bore cylinders for their 107.
Far as I know, 98 will be the biggest you can go without boring the case or stroker wheels.

Thanks Blackhillsken,I see now, bore case but no new crank. So i guess 98" it is.        Coff 06

I have built engines with the Axtell 98" cylinders and bored out stock cylinders to 98'"s with equal success. I have also built the big bore 107" with the Axtell cylinders with great results. With the R&R stage 5 heads O1Deuce's bike made 124 torque and 118 horse at 107"'s with the balancers where as my 01 Dyna is at 115 torque and 118 horse. The torque and horse numbers seem to pretty much come out the same with quicker revving with the "A" motor.

yes I did, the walls get a little thin but many people have done them and they work fine. I know you can hit close to 120hp with the right setup, Is that enough for you

The bored 98"/107" are a good way to go.
Do 'em all the time.

I've got my "B" engine setup with Axtell 107" jugs and pistons.  It is currently putting out 126/120.  I've been thinking about either doing a 120" with the stock casings or a 131" using the Jims cases as a starting point.  How large can you safely push the stock casings both in power output and boring the casings.  I'll probably keep the compression around 11.5:1.  Timken conversion is already done.

The only stock crankcase issues we've seen is with 131" engines that have had the snot run out of them, they start to fracture around the timken bearing insert. I'm very careful about who I will build a 4-1/4" bore engine for with the stock cases. Tim Brindley in Arizona is running 156 torque with one of these. One thing I have found that is interesting is how quick the torque comes up with the heads that are welded and cnc ported by R&R and have experienced that in a race that bike will win even when it has less horse than the other bike. Checking some of the dyno runs in real time have shown this to be as much as 3 seconds quicker.

Can you give me a shake down of your build

S&S still makes the 100" setup (I think), uses the stock 4 stroke, no fly wheel change.  You can take an 88" and BB it to 100" with this kit.

GoFast, drop me your email address and I'll send you the build details.

How high does the compression need to be to achive 115/115 with a 107?
Mine only dyno'd @100/106
10.2 static compression - tested at 6000 ft
Build =

I am running my 107cui at 11.25:1 cr, ccp=220,  51mm HPInc tb, Underground headwork .010 spin drop with .030 cometic gasket, sert, pro pipe, tw400g cam and all the other mods that go along with making it reliable.  It puts out 126ftlbs, about 120hp ( the dyno operator said it kept shutting down the dyno so he never ran it up to 6500 which is where the rev limit is set.  I am guessing that he was doing 5th gear pulls not realizing that it has a Fat5 Overdrive gearset. ).  It produces over 100 ftlbs by 2000 rpms and is very well mannered around town.  I run it on 93 octane pump gas.
