I think the ignition module is causing the hot starting problem, because it starts and runs when it's cold. Does anyone know how to reset the timing after replacing the module?

If you replace it with a stock unit carefully mark exactly how the old one is oriented and put the new one in exactly the same place. You'll be close.

I would take the opportunity to upgrade to something loke a DYNA 2000i since you're changing it anyway. The DYNA has really good instructions on how to set the timing on thier unit, can be set to different advance curves and have LEDs for ignition and VOES operation.
