DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A REPRINT TOPIC FROM "OLD" HTT

I have saved many great topical discussions as "links" over the years and would hate to see these lost, so I am reprinting this TOPIC here, which may "perhaps" help some.

TOPIC:  BROKEN WIRES TO FRONT INJECTOR  08-05-05

From: FLHRDaddy  (Original Message) Sent: 8/5/2005 7:13 AM                Message 1 of 11 in Discussion
Just thought I would post an update on the broken wires to my front injector that was causing intermittent missing on my 03 Road King. A couple months ago I cut a wire wrap that was causing the two injector wires to be pulled taunt as the engine moved. This allowed additional slack in the wires and immediately cleared up the intermittent missing.

Well I've been riding like this the last two months a and bike has run fine with only a rare miss but the engine light continued to come on from time to time. Yesterday I pulled the tank and replaced the wires. Each wire had two breaks within an inch of the connector where the original routing caused two almost 90 degree bends. After seeing this it seems a wonder that the bike ever ran at all?  Dcrocker1

If I remember correctly there wasn't even any tension on the injector wiring, just a bend?

I remember seeing that on a bike back in 2001. The same problem.

Had that problem on my '02 RK. There's a service bulletin out for it. I think it's on Harley Hogs website.  -jeff

Mine also on my 02 FLHTCI. Wires were broken inside the connector. Local GM dealer makes a injector connector repair kit for less than $15.00.

Mark,
You wouldn't happen to have the part # for that, would you?

The tie was the culprit on my 02 RK. Didn't bother til performance upgrades, more engine shake?

Don't have the part number for the connector, but it is a very common part used on most GMs
