was looking at my map and see the VE for the Rear cylinder at 4000 RPM, 20% TP it is showing 127.
at 25% TP @ 4000 RPM its 127.5  and is red colored.
at 30%  TP  @ 4000 RPM its at 127.

VE for  Rear cylinder is 124.5  @4000 RPM at 20% TP
126.0 @ 25 % TP @ 4000 RPM
127.0 @ 30 % TP @ 4000 RPM

also on the front cylinder @ 2000 RPM at 100% TP VE is at 35.0 and highlighted in green!
same @ 2250 RPM 100% TP its 35.0
wondering if indeed any of this should be addressed?
Thanks

Time to change a constant

HarleyFranco

happyman,

What Dewey is saying is set the engine displacement in cubic inches to a greater value than where it is right now.  You'll find that setting under Ecm Constants.  This should give you some more room to adjust your VE's.  As far as the 100% VE settings they seem pretty low, my map at 100% @ 2250 is 94%.  Hope this helps.

the cubic inches is at 135 right now. have to wonder what needs to be done.

HarleyFranco

its a custom map but the base was the  113" with 2/1 pipe.
base was the NL 176-002
had it mapped previously with same base and i like the  VE  a lot more on that map bu tthe timing was not what it should have been and also the the afr was all over the place just runnig it at a steady speed.
may try again  and i feel there is much more in this build than what i am getting.   not looking for huge #'s just what i feel it should have. the dyno is not one of the happy dyno's  but still not what i feel should be there

Did you reduce VE number when you increased constant?

eddfive

I have seen this a few times, raised the Engine displacement way up and lowered the Injector time and it was still not right or VE's were out of spec.  The problem with the few bikes that have showed this symptom was a fuel pump not putting out the 50-60psi that it should.  I had one that was only putting out 35psi and this was on a new 2008.  You need to make sure your fuel pressure is correct.

Pull some data on the injectors,  You may have to go bigger.

I think somethings up because that milage could be 25% better.

thts how i feel i should be able to get 41 mpg or maybe 42 and mayhbe more running at 70 mph ..there is no twisting the  thing  either, just cruseing along.
i am not a tuner but i have the map on the desktop and i look at it and i see some things that make me wonder an di have posed questions ..
