I've been trying to keep my 1987 FLHTC turn signals working. They are the type you push once to turn on and again to cancel, it has 2 flashers behind the headlight. All the aftermarket ones include this year but they are the self canceling ones.  Has anyone ever changed thier bike to the newer type? Or, is there some available I haven't found? A good winter project.  Thanks, John B.

I have 1987 Softail and the way ti works you have tohold the button until you decide to stop signalling.  Also the other flasher i believe is for the four way flashers

Thanks for the input "dubepj".
The aftermarket set I bought listed 1985-97. When I installed them they worked the way yours does. I had a hard time turning etc. while holding the switch in so I put they old turn signal switches in the new housings. Thanks, John B.

Perhaps 91860-88B - "SELF-CANCELLING TURN SIGNAL KIT" and "Fits ’80-’89 FLT, ’70-’84 FLH,’84-’90 Softail, ’75-’90 XL".
Surdyke has it for $71 - http://www.surdyke.com/hd/product.asp?prod=5794&cat=186.

Back to square one. The Harley turn signal kit is no longer available. Any help would be good. Thanks, John B.

88toro, I had a similiar hassle getting switches, start/kill and signal light. Harley Dealer here got one for me from Drag Specialties (which surprised me).
Just go to electrical and punch in Signal light switches, they have late and earlier switch assemblies also a 1-888-300-2004. My kill and starter switch were hooped, price  (cheap) come with long leads). Just remove old one and solder/shrink wrap and voila. Hope this fast tracks your signal light problem.

On my '86 I used aftermarket automatic cancel and replaced switches with newer momentary switches, has worked for 10 years.

88toro,
did you ask your local dealer or did you ask Surdyke?  Some dealers have parts that are no longer manufactured on their shelves and Surdyke's site seems to indicate they have it.

Thanks 14Frisco, I just bought a flasher kit from BK Rider on E-Bay, under $80.00 delivered. I got on the Surdyke website first but they said they are not available. Thanks, John B.
