Many moon's ago I had a '64 XLCH and right now have picked up a '72 that's missing cam cover and cams along with primary cover and sprocket cover. Hence no distributor either.
I was wondering if a magneto cam cover will work? I wouldn't mind setting it up like my old '64
This one is an XLH but kick only. I may try to find an electirc starter to save my leg.

If anyone knows the years of fitments I would appreciate it.

Thanks,,,,

That's easy. Just pick up a J&P catalog. It will show the years and models that the parts fit. If you are still confused, you can call their tech guys.

are you looking for cams too ?  I think I have a set of " P " grind in good shape

I believe a mag style cam cover will fit but of course you need to run early style ('57-'70) cams to drive the mag. You have to keep the later style ('71-'76) sprocket cover because of the later wet style clutch.

When I decide which way I want to go. I'll get in touch Sonny.

I do need everything on the cam side.
I need to make a list up of what is missing and start acquring parts.

Thanks for the info,,,,
