Ignition switch gets warm

The dashboard ignition switch gets warm to the touch when operating the bike. I can easily keep my hand on it but it is definitely warmer than ambient temps and the rest of the dash. Cleaned switch spades and wire connectors but no change. Breakers aren't tripping and electrical system seems otherwise normal. Any ideas?
