do i need to fit the insulated spacer between the 2 cause worried about how far carb will stick out.i fitted billet flange cause the previous rubber flange set up was leaky.plus is the billet flange the right way to go cause i hope so as it is fitted up.i havent started bike up as i have primary pulled apart

I had the same problem IE carb sticking out too far (S&S E) I have left out the insulator /spacer ,S&S say without it you May get fuel evaporation when parked up with a hot engine which will cause hard starting, Have'nt had any problems myself .

I used a 3/8" insulator block on my cv that came off my E, no leg space problem for me whatsoever but fyi, my right floorboard is spaced out 7/8 of an inch to accommodate a Thunderheader.

I do not run the spacer block on my shovel as I run a SU carb,,,never had any problems...I had one on my evo ,,,don't really know why(came in kit),,,I have removed it ,,,but have a nitrous plate which is bout same thickness and never had any problems.
