DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A REPRINT TOPIC FROM "OLD" HTT

I have saved many great topical discussions as "links" over the years and would hate to see these lost, so I am reprinting this TOPIC here, which may "perhaps" help some.

TOPIC:  02 Dresser Front End  12-15-05

Looking for input, the cartridge in the one leg seems to be a pain in the a** to service. Upgrade to 06' springs, dampeners ect, or get the insides for a 02' Road King for the one leg ? or is something out there aftermarket?

That's about it.
For a couple hundred bucks, the 06 setup IMO would be the way to go. By the time you buy the tools you got the 06 legs and then you are done fooling with it for the life of the bike.
I'm waiting for a windfall profit of some sort. <G>

Once they figure out what we are doing they will surely raise the price of the 06 legs. <G>

Couple days ago both complete 06 fork legs were about $330.00 from Zanotti's.  Chrome? I know nothing.

Hippo, I have a 06 FLHTCI and also have a set of Race Tech Gold Valve emulators was wondering if these would help my 06 or should I leave well enough alone?

I think you better ask Race Tech.  IMO the extra damping stage in the 06 legs is like a low dollar non adjustable equivalent of the cartridge emulators.  As good as the emulators are, the benefit obviously would be less then on the bikes that did not come with this new valving.  How much is anybodies guess.  It's not like you are going to adjust the emulators on a bagger all the time either. LOL.
