1972 Sportster rear hub

All, the bike is 1972 sportster drum rear assume it is original just bought the bike. The sprocket is loose an missing rivets, but the good news is the sprocket is in good shape.

Has a different fastening system been introduced for instance (bolts and nuts) for this set up or is it still the rivet to brake drum as originally installed.

Anyone done one?

As far as i know it is still the rivet but i may be wrong

                              I Believe jmanjeff is Correct.
                      U Can Buy Rivet Kits and Do It Yourself or,
      Buy New Or Reconditioned Drum With New Sprocket Riveted On.
I Had That Same Problem And Bought A New One On E-Bay @ A Good Price.

There's a factory jig for setting the rivets on the sprocket, and some older dealerships may still have one. Rivet setting punches are available for sale, you will need two and a good bench vise if you can't find the tool. Get a friend to hold the sprocket/ drum over one punch as you set the head into the vise held punch, and peen the other side. Peen the rivets at opposite sides, working in a pattern around the sprocket. I have the rivet jig if you need a picture.

I found someone to install the rivets and it came out great. If anyone has a need i can put you in contact with the guy
