flh cyl. temp gauge

Does anyone remember what type wire the old flh cyl.head temp gauge used and did it use a sending unit or attach to the head direct?   T.I.A

On my '82 FLT, it's a sender that screws into a fin on the rear head(left side)with a wire that attaches to said sender.  If you find a source for those senders, let me know, I could use a new one.
