This is a 73 kick only how do I set this up so it's not so hard to kick? I mean this thing kicks back way worse than my 48 pan used to!

If I Recall What I Do Is, Find Top Dead Center Of Front Cylinder,
Pull Both Plugs so U Can Turn Engine Over Easily. I Use A Stiff Wire
Turn Over Until Cylinder Is @ Its Highest Point.Remove Timing Plug
I Believe One Dot On The Crank Should Be Lined Up In The Center.
With The Point Cover Removed, Advance Spark(open weights).
Set Timing So Points Are Just Cracking Open.
I Hope I didn't Remember Wrong.  Good Luck!!!

                            A Few Things I Didn't Explain,
Use The Wire Thru. The Front Spark Plug Hole To Feel Piston @ Highest Point,
Points Should Be Set On The Shortest Duration Point Cam Lobe.
And Remember These Ol' Girls Were Called A (Milwaukee Crippler),
Good Luck, They Do Kick Now and Again!!!
If I Seem To Be Babbling, It Could Be To Much "Makers Mark"   :crook:

Might want to have a look at the advance mechanism to make sure things are free and working as they should, also.

Are you running a mag on it? If so - make the mag retardable.
Been a tramp for over 40 years...
