Oil pumps

Looked for but didn't see any strings on ironhead oil pumps.  What is the deal with the various year offerings for use on a 73?  Seems there were changes along the way but sounds like they're backward compatible back to 52.  Is there much difference worth mentioning over the years and are they in fact all compatible 1952 through 1976?

early oil pumps (pre 72)had less flow.kits are available to increase flow by replacing the gears.the 73 oil pump should be sufficient for most conditions.i have a 70 stroker that requires some work to retime the breather.if you were to stroke the 73 you would need to do the same.the other difference is the stud mount vs bolts.Salty
