Sonny - good info on the alternative filter from zippers and the neighbor's got a drill press. With my short legs and forward controls no way would I enjoy riding with any filter that's taller than doherty's stock 2 1/2 inch. As it was I got the longer footpegs to my leg wouldn't touch the cover.

Scurvy,

The filter I listed is the same filter that Zippers lists as being 5/8" taller than the SE.
I think I might have worded it wrong.

ack... ok, I need to buy a new filter, but am looking for alternatives before I give doherty my money.
