If the front cylinder valves are improperly adjusted, will that effect the rear cylinder firing?

If they are too tight and holding the valve/s open there will be.  Because both jugs share a common intake manifold, intake flow to the rear jug will be compromised because of this.

poor valve adjustment will cause poor overall performance.if there is a firing problem with the rear cylinder i believe you need to readjust all valves(cold) and then focus on what happens next.you might want to check the obvious like the point gap on both lobes ,compression check would also be helpful,read the plugs for color etc.Salty
