K&N Airfilter price differences

Hi
I was wondering if anyone knew why I found K&N air filters on the K&N site for about (appr $70) twice the price of "new" ones on eBay (appr $30 & shipping)?
Has anyone heard that there are "seconds" or scrap ones being sold, or is it just really good deals.
Is it a trick?
What have you guys seen.
