I need to replace the module. It came out of 1976 shovel. 1976 came with points.
What year is it?

The above picture is a picture of the ignition module on my '76 shovel. The 2 wires coming off the module go straight to the coil, which looks like a stock coil. And yes it ran perfectly before I lost spark to the spark plugs.

'76 came with points originaly. Im just trying to figure out where they came from. They don't seem to match anything in any harley book. :nix:

That appears to be an aftermarket Dyna 'S' ignition.

Thank you Mr. Moose, I thing you are right!
Now all I have to do is to find out how to test them.

I would just wire in a test light bulb to see if it lights when triggered. Bottom wire should be 12v feed, top wire coil trigger.

You were right, it is a DYNA S. I tested it with a light. No luck. I looked up Dyna and called them. They said to test with a light and if it's no good to send it to them with 50 bucks and they'd send me a new one.

How do you check the magnetic strength. Is it a permanent magnet?
