I have Python Dual Staggered pipes on my 2000 FXSTS and one of the brackets that is spot(?) welded to the heat shield that has come off. I reattached it once before using J.B. Weld epoxy and it held for awhile but it has come off again. Anybody have an idea for a better method to get this repaired without buying new heat Shields?
Thanks in advance.

I have done this with good results.Wet a rag,lay the heat sheild on the rag (Crome side against the rag) now with a mig welder just spot weld it back on. Beleive me ive done this more than i care to count. If you have an old heat sheild, then set your heat using that.

for what its worth, I had one of those tabs break on a set of Samsons I had, they sent me a new shield free of charge, didnt even want the old one in return.

as 86fxwg said. the object is to remove the heat from the chrome without bluing it. wet rags work. There is also a product availabel from welding suppliers. it's a heat disapating jell that you place on the chrome side. good luck
