There is a spray on product you can buy at Lowe's/HomoDepot called Krud Cutter, spray it on a cool engine, brush, spray of with hose, it makes the black look like it did when you first picked up the bike. Plus it fairly odorless, clear, and I think bio-degradable. Bring off alot of road grime stuff too like tar, and general grease and oil. Oh and dried latex paint. Very easy on the mitts as well.
