While on I-90 west to Sturgis back in '89, I saw a couple that had cut about a 4"round hole in their left saddle bag lid and their dog's head was sticking out.  Wish I'd have been able to get a pic of it.

Sorry, no pix;

But about 25 years ago I could pull up in front of my buddies place, and his heinz 57 mutt, Fritz (which was one of those mid size mongrels that could almost talk being so smart), would come over and stand up by the bike if I hadn't shut down and just look at me. If I eazed back and made some room, and motioned for him to get  he would jump up on my legs and get his ass down on the front of the seat, paws on the tank and we would be off.

Not sure how that got started, problebly lifted him up the first few times but it got to be a routine and a bit of novel thing for the folk around town. Fritzy is gone now obviously, but it was good bringing the memory back. He was really one of the crowd.
