I have read a little about dual compound tires.  Does this mean they are made with harder compound in the center and softer on the edge for cornering?  Does this work good on a heavy bagger?  What company makes them?  Thanks for any advise.

if i'm not mistaken they come stock on the new touring bikes

I think BigBlock's got it right.  They're made by Dunlop (?) and, yes, the center is for long distance, and the sides are for grip.  Sounds like a good concept.  Randy

Bridgestone were making them for sports bikes ten years ago

How many miles are riders getting on the front and rear tires in comparison the standard 16" Harley Dunlop tires and how does the price compare to the standard 16" Harley Dunlop tires?  Is the ride better with a wider tire?  I usually get between 8,000 - 10,000 miles on a rear tire and replace the front every other time on my 2007 Road Glide.

To bad DunFlop doesnt make them for the older bikes' sizes. Like a 16" rim and 130-160 sizes... :pop:

I would even give them a shot, but I'll stick with Metzlers...

On the link from Sonny it shows radial tires. Do the new bikes use radials?
