Removing fork covers

I'm interested in a used bike that has the Harley decorative chrome fork joint covers; the ones that cover the standard black covers.  I understand you can put these on without removing the forks.  Anyone know how to take them off?  I haven't looked at them closely yet.  Thanks. They look to be HD part no. 45415-82.

If you're refering to those chrome boot covers...most are two piece and are held together with a spring that goes around the bottom of them.  If they are one piece it's no big deal pulling the tubes and removing them.
