HD makes a softail chrome frame insert kit, pn 47300-88, I believe.  They're chrome pieces that attach with double sided tape to the frame, back by the swing arm.  My question is:  any special way to safely remove these?  Thanks.

just peel them off and use some rubbing alchol to remove glue that is left. you might have to use a small screw driver to get them started to peel off.

You can heat them up with a hair dryer or heat gun.  Make em come off easier.  Also a good soakin with WD 40.

You can also use fishing line and work it behind the  pieces and get them off that way. Sawing the line back and forth.  Works the same with reflectors that you don't want.  Personally, I like them on the softail frames, but to each his own.
