I live just down the road where that knife was made probably 30 years ago.  Ruana's are legend around this part of the country and this one is signed. Wish I had the money for it.

My dad found a Ruana knife in a snowbank in Alaska back in the late forties. The knife got past down to my brother.
He sold it this summer to Rudy Ruanas' grandson for 1300.00. I would guess theyre really good knives.

I have a smaller sticker Ruana from the 50's era.  This one caught my eye because it was a new unused signed knife.  They have quite a following.  It is something to find one in Alaska.

Wow !!   that is a nice piece.
Guy's that are in to knives might have heard of Bill Moran. He was about 10 minutes from me until he died. I've seen his shop and knives...could never afford one though.
Here is his story....pretty interesting.

local blacksmith here makes custom knives, these feel good and are well balanced, lots of work goes into them!

The damascus blades like Moran, Bagwell or Shiva are special.

I have one made in Japan and the thing goes through a 55 gal. drum like it isn't even there and you can still shave with it if you had to.
