air cleaner

the screw that holds the air cleaner on just keeps turning. it won't come out. it's a 92 ultra classic. got any ideas?

Is this a Screamin' Eagle air filter kit?  If you have the buttonhead screws, then you have the later model air cleaner.  Under the air cleaner are three threaded stand-offs that are themselves threaded into the carb body.  So, if you keep on turning these screws, then the stand offs should unscrew also, and you'll get the whole thing off - Assuming that the little screwws are "stuck" in the stand-off.  However, if that's not happening, then it may be that the small buttonhead screws are stripped.  I would try pulling outwards (away from the the engine) on the air cleaner itself and see if the screws will loosen up a bit.  If worse come to worse, you should be able to drill the heads off the screws and get the air filter off.  Then you should be able to one-by-one try to extract the threaded stub from the stand-off.
