Does the Screamin Eagle race tuner for stock (except for air filter and pipes) carbureted motors really add much of a benefit?  Assuming the carburetor is properly jetted, can the race tuner really make any noticeable difference in performance?

FLTRI

Simple answer: No
Why? Because the ignition mapping for a bone stock motor is fairly aggressive so unless there is a reason to retard timing there is little, if any gain to the SERT. The SERT for carbed ignition works great to control advance for high compression builds.

Agree whole-heartedly.
That igniton is a good one, as we have seen the worth of if many times on our dyno.
Used to stock them.

Thanks fltri and hillsidecyclecom.  That was the answer I was hoping for.

The race tuner comes with canned maps..you then need to find a good dyno guy that does timing! A lot of them don't You can change the maps your self very easily..I have one on my 04 carbed Heritage...Dan
