The maps can be viewed by down loading the appropriate software for your module from here http://www.daytona-twintec.com/tech.html 

The initial dial tends to move the cruise timing up & the slope dial tends to more advance the wide open throttle curve. You can enter the numbers in & see for yourself after you download the software.

No surprise that you are able to run at higher timing numbers now, that is my experience with fresh builds until they lay down some carbon in the combustion chamber.

The Hippo build similar to yours I think 570 cams at 10/1 CR was a pretty common choice back on the old MSN site. Many of us including myself ran that combo/build & many of us ended up after trial & error testing with the initial at 2 & slop at 5.
