will a nosecone cam work in a generator motor ? how about the pinion gear ? i'm trying to build a bare set of generator cases and i have a bunch of nosecone innards i'd like to use up.

The quick answer is yes.  But it requires some figguring for part compatibility.  You'ld need a cam cover to accomodate the ignition unless you can use the cam in a regular generator gearcase cover.  I'm not sure about that.  A lot depends on the pinion shaft being used to begin with whether it's early or late style will determine the type of pinion and oil drive gears.  This is probably not much help since it all depends on what you've got.  I only know of doing this but from a different pespective where I'm installing later cone shovel parts in a panhead case but these components were all selected to match and work together starting with the pinion shaft outward.
