I run my 54's at 10.4:1, but that is pushing the limit. 10.2:1 is safer.
Ran my 204's at just under 10:1 but I had a little hot start.  9.8:1 is about the max for 204's.

Can't tell you about the others.

Just a mild street port. Added 1.9 intake valve, stock exhaust valve.
If I recall, the larger valve didn't help me much, if any.
WFO Larry did the heads.

Oh, and they have the detonation grooves in them. Pretty sure thats why I got away with 10.4:1.

204s at 9.8 but would ping in summer heat (south Texas) if I had to tank up on corn fuel.

the max and min compression for particular cams is a subjective number.  The suitable compression range is determined from the intake close on the cam. Generally 9:1 corrected compression is recomended, with 9.5:1 corrected being pushed from time to time.  In the Tech Tips section is a calculator for determining corrected compression.  It's generally best to plug in actual measured volumes for the head chambers and piston volume since the published data can be wrong or misleading.
