I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF DOING A TOP END ON MY 2000 DWG, I PULLED MY OIL PUMP AND IT HAS SCRATCHES ON THE OUTTER PART OF THE "GYRO" DO I NEED TO WORRY THAT MY BOTTOM END MAY HAVE BEEN HURT WITH THE LACK OF OIL PRESSURE AND POSSIBLY METAL PEACES FROM THE PUMP AS IT WORE DOWN??

probably just regular wear. Mine had the same. Slightly less then the thickness of a straight pin.

Probably not, does the pinion shaft have any grooving at the bushing area?

Nick9900

I WILL CHECK THAT OUT THANKS.

I'd put an indicator on the pinon.

HOW MUCH TOLERANCE SHOULD I LOOK FOR ON IT?

I just did mine a couple of weeks ago. My 1999 FLH service manual says 0.000 - 0.003 at the pinion.
