 friend gave me a sparkplug today at the local watering hole. it has 5/8th thread and takes a 1 1/8th wrench to fit the plug. it's a genuine harley davidson plug. the box that it came in is actually pretty damn good shape for as old as it is? the number on the box lid is 32302-09. anybody have any idea what year of harley it would fit? it is a champion plug with harley davidson and the logo on it. #2 plug but the box says #3 on it. :scratch:any help would surely be appreciated, or a web site that could help finding anything.

The -09 in the part number denotes the year. It isn't 2009.

Not sure about the year but I saw this while looking around:

37-09C 32302-09 sparkplug Champion D 16,HD no4    10 pack,all
37-09C 32302-09 sparkplug Champion D14, HD no3   6 pack,all
37-09C 32302-09 sparkplug NGK A-6, 10 pack,all

I think the D16 is what in my knuckle and the post above was from a 45 source.

:beer:thanks for the info. so you think it's for a knuckle then.i didn't see any d-14 on the plug or box. it's definatley a conversation piece.had every young bike in the bar sayin o that's an old pan or shovel plug. got afew laughs out that. got a shovel and have owned pans. that's the reason i went to this thread. ain't many even know what a flathead or a knuckle is. nice piece for the garage wall!

It should be a plug for 1927-1954 all sidevalves and 36-47 knuckles if 37-09C is old part number according to Antique Cycle's catalog.
