engine won't start

Hi,
I have a 2009 sportster 1200 custom that will not start.  the battery is brand new and holds its charge.  when I push the starter botton it just won't turn over.  I have even tried to jump it off and the same thing occurs.  please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have the kill switch in the Run position?
