Im thinking about getting a vrod looking at used. is there any thing i should be looking at or for and what yrs should i be looking for is there a bad yr for these bikes? they look to me to be great bikes not many problems just reg. maint. thanks

in '07 they went from 1130cc to 1250cc, changed the frame to fit a 5 gallon fuel cell, changed the clutch to a slipper type, fit a larger battery. I went from a Fatboy to an '08 Vrod and like the performance and road handling. Stock this bike hauls ass. You should get on one for a test ride at one of those Harley "Demo days"

The 2007 V-ROD model was a 1130cc, standard (non-slipper) clutch and battery was not changed until 2008 models.
2007 was the first year of the "AW" wide frame 5 gallon fuel tank (R model in 2006), 240 rear tire and 2 degrees less offset in the triple trees. Along with a fuel sensor that doesn't work reliably

The 2008 models Change battery size, Slipper Clutch, 02 Sensors and the elimination of the compression releases on the exhaust cam (due to the higher amperage battery being able to turn the engine over)
