Here is a pic of a little project I am working on. The motor is a 2008 S&S panhead. It makes about 90hp. It has 10-1 compression, roller rockers, electronic ignition, evo cam and tappets and a modern charging system. We put in a 5 speed with a kicker and electric start and a 3" belt. 18 inch wheels with black spokes are wrapped with a 150 front and a 200 rear. It has a "SPROTOR" sprocket/rotor. (I just like to say that word!) I hope to have it finished this winter!

Back tires, Smoke em if you got em!

Nice looking but how about more infoe please...How many cubes on the motor. Whose roller rockers you using. Cam size. Manufacturer of charging system. Frame made by...Lose anything when you need to stop by using the sprotor.

Looks great.  What front end is that and how wide? Would love to see more pics.

Here is one of the right side. The front end is a "Big Un" from Mid USA. Rake and trail have been engineered in to this build to be in the sweet spot at 4.44 inches of trail. It should be stabile but agile too! The S&S motor is 10-1 with a 600 cam. I'm using a "Hardbody" frame for this build. The welding is unbelievable. I'm a tech and know motors and trans and wiring and the like. I use frames from people that know their stuff too. I wanted this to look like a mid fifties pan but have ALL the goodies (and ponies) of a modern bike.
This should be extra cool cuz it will only have rubber grips with an internal throttle wire on the bars. Both brakes will be operated with separate masters with the right foot. The "Sprotor" uses a four piston ebony black caliper. It will have a hand banger and a suicide foot clutch. My plan is to have an "auto clutch" so you can put your left foot down at a stop. You won't be able to see much for wiring cuz I will hide most of it. The starter has a button where the solenoid should be. I have a front fender to use now and some really cool "little" shocks for the seat! I will likely use the bars from the left side photo.

Very Very nice.
Who's oil bag?
Can't wait to see progress. Hope you can update as the build progresses. Best Wishes.

Sam, cannot thank you enuf for the pics and the info. Have a buddy who is trying to do the same thing (pan motor/kick/electric in a rigid frame/round oil bag). sent him pics of your build along with your comments.

Gonna beg for a couple more questions. Whose primary set up are you running? What type of starter did you use to work with the electric start primary assembly

I'm lovin it and your ideas and plans.  Make's for a nice clean and functional ride.  I've had a pan project in limbo that has similar lines in a rigid and have been going back and forth about whether to use the sportster of fatbob type tanks.  Wanted to put oil in one side of the fatbobs but as time goes by my fondness for the sportster tank may win out.  The simple round oil tank does fit well doesn't it?

Keep it up.

Man ,,That's gonna be really nice. I hope your efforts pay off with a finished project you just love to rack up the miles on!

A couple more questions eh? Sure, no problem! It is a BDL 3" belt drive and I have a Spyke (shiny) super torque starter to go on it. The Hardbody oil bag is from Mid USA #86081, in raw steel. They come chromed too. Most of this build came from Mid USA with the exceptions being the S&S motor and the 5 speed Rev Tech kicker trans. All of it's components are brand new! I like the sporty king tank for its simplicity and a little bit of capacity. I had to cut the FB tank mounts off. I'll have to cut the right side brake mounts and a few other tabs too. I will cut, shape and weld anything steel myself. I will try to get a closeup pic of the riser. You cannot see ANY hardware. I had it custom made at our local fab shop.

I don't mind the questions. The day it annoys me to talk about motorcycles is the day I selling vacume cleaners door to door!  :gob:

Sam...thanks for taking the time to answer. Keep us posted with updates and pics. Nothing like pan porn

I'll have a rear sprocket spacer done this week. Once I have that I can start to hang tin!

An update! Back wheel is spaced, sprocket is aligned and we are good to go.

Three on the tree! An extra 3deg built into the trees to keep the trail in line.

I just got invited to the "Sturgis North" (tm) Biker Buildoff, does this bike look like a good candidate?
I'd havta go all out on it! Give me some input!!!!  :smiled: We'll build it here first.

Sam, did you machine your own spacers for the rear axle. I see that Baker offers them now.

What about wiring? Gonna be able to run it through the bars/frame or will it be exposed?

The goal is to hide 99% of the wiring. Nothing says custom like custom covers.

Gonna hide most of the hardware too.

Update! We are just braiding some steel struts for the rear fender. Pics to follow when I'm happy with it. The fender is now fitted to the back rim and I've built a chain guard into it. Rear lights are now engineered. More to follow soon!
I took a little time out to do the Sturgis North Icon Bike. You should be able to see it in some rags soon,  :gob:
there is a taste of it on eyecandycustoms.ca new website.

Looking good!  Talk to me more about the controls and how you've set up the internal throttle (whose throttle).  I'm most curious about your plans to use right foot to actuate both brakes.  What's that involve?  Looking to have an extremely clean handlebar set-up but am running a standard clutch with hand control.  Keep getting drawn to that Cuctom Cycles Controls stuff but man that stuff is pricey.  Good point on direct starter button.  Probably doesn't get cleaner than that.  My transmission is a Baker 6 but doesn't have any provisions for speedo drive so maybe the electronic speedo with remote trigger I saw mentioned somewhere in these forums will work for me off the rear wheel.

I'll use two separate brake masters for the twinned right foot brake system.   You will likely see it here first

Just a quick update. Here is a pic from this year. Just finished the pipe for this pic. I am a couple of days away from paint.
