On my sporty, 07' 1200C (doesn't matter) I've had the reoccurring problem of slow starts then....."click" no start.
Each time I have found the problem (from vibration, over time)to be a loose negative contact at the battery.

The symptom........bike starting slow, like the engine is trying to over come the high compression stroke, then it starts ok.
Pulling the battery out far enough to tighten the negative battery post connection and reinstalling, the bike starts in 1/2 second....no pause in starting.
Just like when it was new.
I've tried loc-tite blue on the bolt but I guess I have to clean the post and bolt threads better & try again.
Hope this helps someone in the future.

What about a lock washer instead of lock tite?

Panzer

Yup, gonna try both....thxz.
Probable use a star washer.
Amazing what a loose connection will do.
