Hey guys, the primary chain (72 sportster) keeps developing excessive slack. I replaced the tensioner it and still does the same. I think that the tensioner must be slipping. Any similar experieces out there? or suggested solutions?

Thanks

You're talkin' about a 38 year old bike.  Has the primary chain (which can/will stretch) EVER been replaced?  Your solution could be as simple as replacing that chain.....while examining the sprockets for wear while doing so.

38 years, your kidding!!!!  The guy that sold it to me said it was like new.

Good thought, I will have to look at the chain as the possibkle cause.

thanks
