What is normal operating temp for 103

Hey guys, I was just wondering what a normal operating temp is for a 103" motor. I was having some overheating issues with my bike, after the BB kit was put on, but now that it has a decent tune, it seems to be running at about 280-300 according to the temp gun . You guys were right, it was running too lean. Wish I knew what the oil temp was, how can I measure it, without the expensive digital oil bag cap?  I still havent changed to synthetic oil yet I need to do that asap. I am still gonna get an oil cooler, probably the HD version that they are running on the cvo's. Thanks in advance for any input,   Tony

Use the same heat gun to check the oil.

Wish I had one, its the dealers gun. Can you really check the oil temp with the same gun?
