these cams look very simular on paper, is there much of a diff. if used on a 95 softail?  merry christmas to all...

I am not the expert that others around here are but Mike Stegman from Latus HD has said he gets better results from the Andrews 37 when I asked the same question.  I do know that the 95" bb, cast FT pistons and Cometic head gasket puts you right in the compression range for the Andrews 37.

I have some TW37g in a stock 88 right know and i am happy with them compared to stock. They are a little weeak on the bottom but, i am stock compression. I here if the get the squish set right they are night and day.

I'm with Sonny-   Go with the 37's.  I'm pretty biased, but the 37's is a great cam in 95" engines.

wait wait wait.....hmmmmm how can anyone say a cam is going to be great for someone unless of course you know them.....or their riding style....so far I haven't read anything about either one of these things in this THREAD.

Shakes my head.....

easy, I used this:

honestly, I've run both and this is what I've found:

the 203's offer very little advantage over the 37's in lower rpm torque (assuming the dynamic compression is the same on the two), Softails are not known to pull trailers, and the 37's kick the 203's butt from 3500 and up.  if the question was say 211's to tw21's that may have involved maybe a question or two.  This one was easy.   :teeth:

The 204’s are much closer cams than the 203’s. they just have 4 degrees of advance ground in. With that said, I’d go with the 37’s also, as long as the compression is over 9.5:1
Happy holidays.
If it ain't broke... Fix it until it is.

Would everyone go with the 37's over 204's?  I had 204's on a previous bike and liked them, but never have ridden anything with 37's, so don't know how they compare.

Faast Ed

The 204's are darn similar to the old version 37's, don't know about the newer ones. Both are great cams and I'd take either one over the 203's.
Cool sounding exhaust on the 204's at any rpm. Very racy sounding.

I think that depends.....the 204's are very similar to the 37b's, with the 204's just having an earlier advance ground in.  That earlier advance will shift the torque curve on earlier. Depends on what one wants.  In say a 96" bike with stock compression I would choose the 204's over the 37's because of the earlier intake close, which would build more dynamic compression.  I have the 37's in a 95" and love them, but I like the 204's too.  The old 37's that Ed mentioned had a 42 degree intake close, they switched to the 38 degree close in the 37's a little while ago.

How are the 37's in a 103 ? I have them in my 95ci and when I pick up my new(09) SG I'm thinking of using them again

i have often wondered this

i put 37s in my 95 inch bike in 02,i have since put several 37s in and they dont seem to have the kick up stairs mine do??could this be why mine have a 42 close and the newer 1s i put in have the 38close?????

how are they in a stock 88 with heavy breather intake and free flowing exhaust on an 03  FLSTS? maybe considering if funds come up short?  :embarrassed:
Due to the rising cost of Ammunition a warning shot Won't be fired !

I would pass and do a big bore kit instead and cam it later.
