Is there an alternative method to lock the cam/crank gears?  I did not know that the 09 required a different gear lock tool than my previous 05.  The book calls for PN HD 47941, I have the georges tool for the 99-06 except Dyna. Never thought to research and now wished I would have.

As always TIA,
Mike

Check the Instructions Section you may find what you have will be close enough

In a pinch you can always insert a pin punch of appropriate size between the chain and sprocket.

Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

Assuming the motor is in the frame/bike.......Bike in gear, holding(or strapping) rear brake lever.......break both bolts loose.....simple. Or just jam a rag in there..?

Thanks for the help- I used a a piece of fuel hose with a nut driver stuffed inside of it. inserted it inbetween gear and chain, Worked like a charm. Pic below:
