Question about a Mid-Usa Hardbody Springer on 1999 XL883C

Anyone ever install one of these springers?  I was curious about mounting the front brake.  I'm thinking about getting one for my stock XL883C.  I'm assuming if I want to use the stock caliper from my bike I'll have to fab up a bracket. 

Also, I'm thinking -2" would be about right for a stock height sportster.  I want to keep my ride height about the same but may do a hardtail conversion later on down the road.  I think -4 would be a bit extreme.
