Best way to remove carbon off the top of pistons???...I got some off but half of it is damn stubborn...pistons are out of engine*

Green - scotch brite pad. A little WD40 helps loosen it up with the pot scrubber.
Deosn't touch / take off metal while you are polishing.

gasket remover spray from local auto parts store took the carbon off of my pistons in about two minutes or less

Gasket remover spray is great stuff for removing most anything...  including paint.

Be careful with that stuff.  Wear gloves.  It does a great job of removing just about anything it touches....  and it will burn the skin.
