magneto question

i have one of the old ratley ferguson magneto (hunt mag) setups for a cone shovel. i'd like to convert it to fit a generator lowerend. i tried pulling the shaft from the rotor but it "looks" like the shaft extends all the way through the rotor instead of having a hex end that sockets into the rotor. does anyone have experience with these mags ?

you may want to check eBay, mags on the cone bring a pretty good price, the shaft mags you just drop in the hole are genrally a lot cheaper. you may want to sell what you have, buy what will fit, and have coin left over.   just a thought.
