A buddy of mine picked up a 67 fl. It is stock. He is having charging problems. I have a twin cam and an 86 evo, but am not familiar with this system. What should we look for and  what is the correct way to test it.We have put a full charge in the battery. Does any one have a wiring diagram for it.    Thanks

You need to make sure that you polarize the generator on those bikes

What is the right way to polarize.Do we ground f and then + to A on the generator?

Briefly  touching a jumper wire between "Bat" terminal and "Gen" terminal on the regulator before starting the engine and having all the connections where they belong will polarize the generator.

The scans below are from my 1959-69 H-D service manual.     Eric

Just buy a cycle Electric GV-5000 generator and  electronic regulator ,you will be good to go for a long time ,No polarization needed, made in USA , The original equipment supplier to Harley...Mule...
