How about simply a stolen bike? I wouldn't be surprised if a high percentage a big ticket items on E-Bay were stolen. ~JC~
If I had to understand, You wouldn't explain.

:hyst: looks lke they took his Rolls Royce too, from the car in the background. Probably is a specialties dealer as mentioned by others, that would also explain the list of hit words. I still don't see why it's outrageous to so many people who haven't even SEEN the bike in person-just a crappy pic??? Just 'cause I can't afford it doesn't mean it's overpriced

I"ve seen simular post many times on both the old and new HTT site.  Would you be willing to start a thread for an offer to sell your bike with a picture and description and an asking price?   You wouldn't pay my price and I probably wouldn't pay yours either.  Did you pay the Harley dealer to do the work, or did you put your sweat into the bike?   Craigslist or Ebay or what ever.  My bike is worth as much or more to me than yours is to you. Give it a rest.......................Sorry had to vent.  Glen

Looks like an EVO cam cover to me.  Then again pic is pretty small/blurry so who knows.

Blow it up and it looks even more like an Evo to me.
Let's see, pre '99, probably has less than 5000miles on it, spent most of it's life in
the stealer's shop installing crap.

BTW, why would you strip a heritage down to a FatBoy and then put a bunch of crap on it??
Kinda like making a WideGlide out of an Ultra??

I agree with Glenn W.... We brag about HD's resale value; then someone has to be full of it, when they set a sell price. That's hypocritical..

There's not enough info to knock the bike... It could be a reasonable price... Plus, I don't give a rats a$$ who the guy is.. A nice HD is a nice HD... Bad mouth the metric bikes... I hope he gets every dime he asked for; that's good precedence for others who sell their Harleys...

an idiot if you do, an asshole if you don't... WTF

Same cell phone is listed for a Jeep CJ sale in Illinois. Pictures of the jeep look like they were taken in Florida. Same type of ad, high quote on the installed options and custom work but offered at a low must sell price.

We all value our motorcycles more than they're really worth on the open market. For me, in my mind, the Road King I commute to work on is worth a lot more than I would get in trade, probably about $4,000 in this economy. Part of the deal when you trade a vehicle is that you're not stuck with the inconvenience of trying to sell it to boneheads, and for some of us, it's worthwhile to do so.

However, I bought a new truck recently, and I found the trade in on my old truck wasn't worth dealing with. I figure for that kind of money, I'll keep it for a landfill runner.

I think this guy might be "curbstoning", where he gets a car or bike, with an open title, and he sells it to someone else. I had a boss who did this for years, and he made quite a bit of money. During the 1980's, he was bringing in another $10,000 a year doing this, and that's a lot of money if you're doing it in spare time. Another friend started doing it because he needed extra cash when his wife walked out on him and their son, and he built a business with the cash. Not a bad deal.

The seller will always exaggerate when describing a vehicle. Chances are, this guy is into this bike for probably $10k or so, and he's trying to just make a buck. It could be a very good deal for someone who wants a bike just like that, or close enough to that, so he could get his bike and change a few minor things and call it good.

When I bought my Panhead, it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it was close enough. I figured I can ride it as is for now, change a few things over the next year or two, and then I'm where I want it. Not a bad deal, considering I got in cheap enough.

Remember, just because you don't like it, someone else may fall in love. That's all they need, the one person with the cash who falls in love with it. I just gotta find that someone for my old truck!

One of my scoots is brand new, and it's not worth crap in today's market compared to what I paid for it/have put into it. It's just plain not worth $-it's worth my enjoyment of the ride.

Glen, you have a good point, and I am sure someone somewhere thinks that bike is a steal!

Now about that Rolex-is it ok to have full sleeves and wear a snazzy watch like that? I hear they make your junk bigger.

Just watched a new custom one-off chopper with over $60,000 invested go for less than 20k at a Barret custom car auction...

Heck, I've got about $40k in my 02 Deuce. Do you think I could get $35k for it?  LOL
