Why is their such a demand for 06 heads? Are they that superior to the previous yrs? How do they compare to S.E. performance heads ?

the article that Bone posted doesn't cover the '06 which flow better from the factory than the 99-04 and the '05 heads.

The 06 and 07 flow better out of the factory and they have the beehive springs which can also take more lift. But if you are porting them some porters like the later heads because you start with a smaller exhaust port and open them up to size you need. I actually sold my 07 heads and bought 03 heads to have them built the way I wanted them for my 107 build I am doing now.

I've heard what gofast posted about the older heads and full port effectiveness from three different head porters.  Must be something to it.
