front end question???

i have an 06 streetglide and am planning on changing the front end to a single sided brake system with a 6 piston caliper.  my question is can i use fork legs from say a fatboy or a heritage of the same year?  seems to me that the forks are the same diameter and the fender mounting tabs are not an issue since i'm using a custom fender thats not drilled yet.

any help or advise would be great.

 I believe the softail sliders are a little longer than yours so check clearance when fully compressed and I don't know if the softail's front axle have been increased in size (3/4") to your 1" yet either, not that a machine shop couldn't do it. The softail for tubes are a couple inches longer also.
