Son's 06 V-Rod on occasion (twice) lost speedo reading, odometer and fuel gage.
When this happens, it might be momentarily or for a few minutes, never know when it will wink out altogether and stay off.
The bad part is you never know when the tank is empty.
All instrumentation shuts down together, not separately.
Any suggestions as to where to look, before a hysterectomy is done?

TIA

Check the main instrument connector under the instrument cluster. Could a s simple as a loose connector.

Follow up..............
After leaving the bike at the dealer's for three days, son picking up the bike today, done or not do, here's what was said...........
I say......."said", because nothing was done to correct the problem.
Dealer said (service dept.) that they duplicated the problem (instrumentation goes blank) but as of yet can not find the cause.....DAH!!
Now I guess we'll, ourselves, have to snug all connections after we apply some dialectic grease to the connectors, as the dealer should have done.
We shall see.

When you have those connectors apart, spray them well with electrical contact cleaner.
