......stumbled on this shovel motor porn ..
.. 105 hp from 88 cubes built around the Sorensen heads I posted 'bout last week ..

.. check the intake ..
.. looks like it might take some sort of super sealing bullet proof custom manifold ?? ...

(if so, 'bout time someone improved a shovel intake manifold system IMHO)

..... check the cam spec's !! ..
.. intake .690" lift .. exh. .680" ..
:smileo:

... this kina stuff gives me "wood" ...  :embarrassed: ........
LOL ...

... never was much for billet 'till I started to learn that besides looking good, it ='s BIG HP ...
... gotta admit ..
.. this kina "bling" is lookin good to me ..

:emoGroan:

... awww crap .. bit by the billet bug ...  :hyst:

.. if I was building it, and had the scratch, I'd probably have to throw for these too .. (different vendor)

.. if anyone wants more info, I'll dig up the links ..

Looks cool for sure. One thing though, all the companies that make Shovel heads go with a three bolt exhaust system. I've always wondered why they never just went with an EVO/TC exhaust setup. A very good system without that great big 3 bolt casting. Also gives lots more exhaust choices. The EVO/TC intake is also much nicer and none of this would have cost anymore had it been designed into their heads from the get go.

Most of the aftermarket exhaust systems for shovels and pans won't fit without the casting. The evo is too far into the head. I do agree that the evo is far better.

Why couldn't you just use EVO exhaust. I know some of the bend angles are a little different but I'm sure many could work.

The dual cross-over setup on Betsie is off a 1998 Softail DeLuxe. I cut the spigots off of a set of dragpipes and welded it to fit the shovel. I had to "customize" the heat shields to fit but it works very well and don't look too bad.

I'm wondering what the Panheads will cost once available. Since Spyke offers the STD Panheads, they've become quite proud ($$$$) of them.  :dgust:

From what I understand, Spyke only bought the stock, and not the tooling.

Nice looking porn  :agree:  we built a 103 for a local guy here this summer. But he has not completed the bike yet. Looking forward to seeing that one on the drum.

This summer I bought a set of STD Panheads from Spyke for 1250.00,  heads ported & all valves & springs installed. All I had to do was transfer the rocker blocks & arms from my old heads & I was back in business. These heads have the stock type exhaust ports & are hard to tell from originals unless you really know what you are looking for. Didn't seem like too bad a price to me & man am I ever satisfied with how ol' Norma Jean runs !

$1250.00 for a set is fine. Guy I talked to quoted $1250 ea. Musta got the janitor. LOL. I really like STD heads. Had a set of Evo that Lou Trachtenburg (RIP) set up for me years ago, ran super good.
