shovel question from a non-shovel guy

buddy of mine has a 69 peanut case that is puking trans fliud . i havent quite been able to tell where it is coming from but i can tell you how it started. we pilled off both the inner and outer primary to remove the open belt setup and go back you a wet clutch and closed primary. re-installed the primo clutch , used a somewhat universal gasket (it was like 1950-2013) kit w/ no instructions so it as tough to tell what was for his motor and what wasnt. we never messed with the trans and nothing else is leaking but it is puking gear oil pretty bad and i think the trans is the only thing that takes gear oil, right? any help would be great and anyone that has links to a illustration of how it goes together please send it. maybe we missed a seal or something, thanks

just a guess...

The main drive gear bushing is worn
The new primary chain is too tight

The trans output shaft is being pulled forward in the bushing
This makes a gap on the back side of the shaft where the gear oil is coming out
